#FreeMahienour : They went to Support Her and Now they need Support "Updated"

Today a group of activist organized a stand in solidarity with Mahienour El-Masry as well a Press conference to spread awareness about her case  in her hometown in Alexandria. That stand was dispersed by security forces using force and those who went to support Mahienour demanding her freedom are now in an urgent need of support !! Updated: The activists have been released late last night.

I do not need to guess that those activists will be accused of illegal protesting and will face another 2 to 3 years as usual.
Among those activists revolutionary socialist member Dr.Taher Mokhar.Dr. Mokhtar is also a member in the Doctors syndicate in Alexandria.
Arresting Dr. Mokhtar "Masrawy"

Both Mahienour El-Masry and Taher Mokhar were not only helping Egyptians but they were helping as well Syrian refugees in Alexandria.
By the way, Dr. Mokhtar was the man who was beaten during the Khaled Said trial clashes.

Of course I should not forget that the Egyptian Center For Economic and Social rights in Alex where Mahienour’s presser was held in the morning was stormed by security forces as well !!
This is the second time this NGO founded by former Presidential candidate and labor rights activist Khaled Ali to be stormed by security forces , the only difference that this time it happened in Alexandria. As usual they confiscated documents and PCs as well arrested a number of people who were there during the arrest after the presser. You must know that women activists in the center like Isis Khalil were subjected to sexual harassment during their arrest.
Now Reuters sent to the European Commission in Egypt an email asking them about their reaction regarding the imprisonment of Mahienour El-Masry and the EU as usual expressed its concern.
I doubt that this concern will lead to anything. Again this witch hunt against the 25Jan activist will not kill the revolution.

  1. I'm so sorry to see all this happen. Egypt's events make me depressed. It needs a real revolution (and prior to that real information in all the cities, villages and streets all over Egypt) with all groups and parties and ideologies united against the system - yet I fear this is still a very long way away.
    Thanks for your posts.
