Egypt’s iPhone page in Apple.com

It is official and it is from Apple.com , iPhone is coming soon to the valley of the Nile. I know that this is very old news I published it before .
I was so happy to find the Egypt’s iPhone page today in Apple.com.
Both Mobinil and Vodafone will be the iPhone distributors ,this is why Mobinil I think presented the 3G at last. Vodafone Egypt got it with the Vodafone international deal with Apple to release the Mobil phone in several countries including Egypt.Mobinil got through Orange deal with Apple too.Etisalat Egypt is out of the picture.
I am so happy insh Allah I will not have to leave Mobinil because only of the handset.
Now my ultimate question : How much will it cost ??
I think both Mobinil and Vodafone will release it for the same price ,they can’t play with the prices here . I wonder if it will be for L.E 4000 like the old iPhone that was leaked in Egypt !! Or even more after all this is the authorized 3G iPhone !!??
But of course do not forget that HTC , LG and Samsung released their handsets too in Egypt
Tell me how much do you think the price of iPhone in Egypt will be ?? If you got any information from your friends in Mobinil or Vodafone please share it with us ;)

  2. The page has been there even before the launch in the US. The deal was all over the internet, even before the page was published!

I think there is a conspiracy theory involving extreme politics on the price issue. It's very complicated. Hope you cover it in a future post.

  4. Zeinobia, I just wanted to make a couple of points clear:
1- The Apple Egypt page has been around since the launch of the iPhone3G.
2- There was another 20 countries iPhone launch on 22 this month, it was speculated that both Egypt and Saudi-Arabia would get it which of course proved to be false which brings me to my third point that there are rumors going around that the reason it hasn’t been released in Egypt yet is that there is a military banned on devices containing GPS software but of course Apple could always release a modified software disabling the GPS feature, although I doubt that they'll go through all this trouble just for Egypt.
4- Finally if released in Egypt, Apple would properly strike a deal with both Vodafone and Mobinil forcing them to subsidize the initial price of the phone while offering their customers a (properly expensive) specific monthly plain (unlimited internet, a certain number of min.,…etc), and again the word on the street is that it’ll go for 1500L.E.

  6. @Abdelrahman , do you know that I was going to discuss the GPS part because it is unfair to ban Nokia phones and permit iPhone if they share the same qualifications , I do not know what Apple will do
about the price , I wish they release it for L.E 1500 but i doubt it because you kill the market for Nokia,Samsung and HTC

@JPierre , how much is the American dollar in Egypt ?? how much is the Euro in Egypt ?? this is what I mean

  7. I think it will go around for 1500-2000 , Probably you'll be locked with Vodafone or Mobinil so you won't be able to switch to Eitsalat or even use another sim other than yours.

  18. I think that GPS might be enabled because in apple site http://www.apple.com/iphone/countries/eg/ there is the specs for the IPhone and they have the part for the GPS thingy, I wonder if they just put it there as part of the IPhone in general not the one coming in Egypt... and its comming tomorrow :)
